Powered by Egodrift Eclipse Series

Our drive systems are built around the Eclipse Series motor — smooth, usable power engineered for the schedule.

Not sure which drive fits your airframe?
Send us your model and flying weight — we'll spec the right system for you.

The Precision F3A Contra Drive is a contra-rotating drive designed by Precision Aero Products and, for the most part, made by us in Australia. A few components are shared with Adverrun, where those parts have already proven themselves. The motor is the EGODRIFT Eclipse Series 4025EC at 550KV, suited to propellers from 20" to 24" diameter, and titanium hardware and Japanese EZO bearings are used throughout as standard.

You will notice the motor sits 180 degrees from the usual contra layout. That puts the cooling airflow through the motor the right way, and it runs cooler for it. Weight as pictured is 635 g. We have kept weight down with good materials and careful design rather than chasing the lightest possible figure at the cost of rigidity and the model's centre of gravity.

If a prop strike bends the main shaft, the complete shaft can be changed with the drive still in the model: loosen the two grub screws in the main gear and slide the shaft out. Fitting the new shaft is the reverse.

The drive comes with its soft mounting system, the front collet assembly and titanium hardware. The front rubber isolators sit on 50 x 50 mm centres, the same as the Precision F3A Drive and the PCK, so a firewall drilled for either will take this drive. Spinners, a firewall and rear support ears are sold separately; we can make custom firewalls and rear support ears to suit your airframe.

Frequently asked questions

What is included with the Precision F3A Contra Drive?

The contra drive assembly with the EGODRIFT Eclipse 4025EC 550KV motor fitted, the soft mounting system, the front collet assembly and titanium hardware. Spinner, firewall, rear support ears and propellers are sold separately.

Will it fit a firewall drilled for the Precision F3A Drive or PCK?

Yes. The front rubber isolators are on 50 x 50 mm centres, the same as the Precision F3A Drive and the PCK, so an existing firewall drilled for either will take this drive.

Can a bent main shaft be replaced with the drive still in the model?

Yes. Loosen the two grub screws in the main gear and slide the shaft out. Fitting the new shaft is the reverse. Spare shafts are available from us.

Why is the motor mounted the other way round?

The motor sits 180 degrees from the usual contra layout so that its cooling air flows through in the direction the motor was designed for. The result is a cooler-running motor.

Where is it made?

Designed by Precision Aero Products and mostly made by us in Australia. A few components are shared with Adverrun, where those parts have already proven themselves.
