The PowerBox Batt Life Guard 3S brings a 3S Li-Ion or LiPo pack down to storage voltage on its own. Lithium cells lose capacity if they sit fully charged, so after flying you plug it into the pack's discharge lead and walk away: over several hours it takes the pack to 3.8V per cell, then switches itself off and draws next to nothing. The LED is lit while it is discharging.
It plugs straight into PowerBox packs, which use the MPX connector. Other brands of battery need an adaptor to MPX, sold separately. It works on the discharge lead, not the balance lead. For two-cell packs, use the Batt Life Guard 2S.
